Moving is not an easy task regardless if you moved last year or 20 years ago. Juggling full-time jobs, raising kids, and getting involved in community work leaves very little time to come home and start packing toward your moving day. Nevertheless, this is what most of our Customers do.

But, some furniture is just too old, not in style anymore or does not fit the design or the layout of your new place. And this is the best time to decide what you want to do with it. We have broken down these unwanted items into 3 groups that we will elaborate on.

Sell Your Used Furniture Online

There are bargain shoppers who are looking to buy used furniture all the time. Just because you don’t want it anymore, does not mean that somebody else is not willing to take it from you and pay you for it. As long as it is in good and clean condition, it can find a new home. It can be anything: glass dining tables with chairs, hardwood dining tables, couches, bed frames, china cabinets, entertainment centers, you name it. While some customers include delivery in the price, others ask the buyer to come and get it.

Here is a list of popular websites where you can list and sell your used furniture

Donate your Used Furniture

Some of our Customers decide to give their furniture and other items away at a local donation center. You can just google the nearby donation centers and call to check if they accept what you want to give away. It can be one piece or an entire set. Depending on your location, we have compiled list of donation centers in the greater Los Angeles area in the link below.

What your movers should know:

Write down the list of items and dimensions. Find out the operating hours to coordinate the arrival time.

Junk Haul

Some items are destined to go to be hauled off to junk due to different circumstances. The furniture is unsafe to be used any longer. IKEA-type pressed paper furniture is not resistant to water damage. The recent floods in the greater Los Angeles area caused a lot of households to throw away water-damaged furniture. Often our customers request to haul off bed frames and mattresses. During office moves, certain items either do not fit or will not have space in the new office, so we are asked to haul it off at the end of the move.

What You need to know to hire a moving company to move your furniture.

We charge a 3-hour minimum for all moves plus a fee for each item if it’s going to junk. So, moving one or even a few pieces of furniture wouldn’t make sense economically. Often, we move these items as part of the larger move. We add a stop on the trip either before or after the move, drop off items at the donation center, haul them off to junk, or drop them off at the buyer’s house. This way, you pay for the time to make the stop and drop off the item en route.
