I've never seen a slower mover. When they showed up they said wow it's gonna be a long night. It's a one bedroom apartment that I had packed up most stuff but not breakables, art, & clothing because professional movers have special wrapping. They looked at fragile items and no joke said I should have packed it myself. And they will charge me for wrapping. (The contract says they're full service including wrappings and furnishings needed.)
I called management after I had been the one to break down my own furniture (bed/desk) and wrap all the fragile items. It was three hours into the move and they had only managed to plastic wrap about five things, carry 20 boxes/bags and get half the closet clothing. (Did I mention they used the elevator and their truck was outside right there after only one flight of stairs DOWN.) Management made excuses and said there was nobody else to send.
Then, as if it weren't bad, the one guy told me he doesn't need this and why don't I cancel. I guess management called. That maybe explains why every time I saw them on the phone on way back from truck and why it always took 15 minutes for them to come back.
Some more highlights? They lost the screws to a huge piece of furniture rendering it useless until I figure something out, they didn't finish the move so I have a lot to do this weekend, they stacked unwrapped oil paintings and they left furniture on their sides, in some cases against the frames weakest point.
Unfortunately I've had to move three times in the last three years and I've used three different movers. I just get the ones closest since everyone has such good reviews. Always easy always fast. I made a mistake by not going with my last ones. Universal moving was great, so was OZ.
I gave them the extra star because they were on time and after a heated phone call during payment I only got charged for the minimum three hours. Though nobody ever apologized. I was blamed for all of it. Too far, don't have the money (I did and I'm a great tipper for good service), some movers are slower, why didn't I go with other movers - you name it, they said it. But never sorry.
